Role Description
Bio‑Techne is hiring a Director of Business Development for Licensing & Commercial Supply to lead the EMEA Commercial Partnerships function. This leader will drive OEM, licensing, and strategic supply partnership growth across the region. The successful candidate will expand Bio‑Techne’s footprint among biotech, diagnostic, biopharma, and adjacent markets, identifying new commercial opportunities, developing high‑value partnerships, and achieving regional revenue and margin goals. This role requires strong business development expertise within life sciences, experience operating across diverse EMEA markets, and technical familiarity with Bio‑Techne’s core technology portfolio.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute the EMEA strategy for OEM, licensing, and strategic supply partnerships.

Prioritize target markets, segments, and organizations across EMEA.

Understand regional industry dynamics, emerging technologies, competition, and regulatory landscapes to identify new opportunities.

Partnership Development & Sales Execution

Prospect, qualify, and engage new leads and established accounts to build a robust regional pipeline.

Develop trusted, long‑term relationships with technical, operational, procurement, and executive stakeholders.

Lead negotiations for licensing, OEM, and supply agreements while protecting margin and ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with alliance management, legal, quality, regulatory, product management, and marketing teams to develop term sheets, agreements, and tailored commercial solutions.

Collaborate with regional sales, operational teams, and internal global stakeholders to coordinate account strategy.

Engage internal subject‑matter experts to support evaluations, technical discussions, and customer‑specific solution development.

Secure and nurture customer references for testimonials, co‑marketing, and strategic outreach.

Team Leadership

Recruit, lead, and develop additional EMEA business development team members as the region grows.

Promote a culture of commercial excellence, teamwork, and customer‑centric execution.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field required.

10+ years of business development experience, ideally in OEM and/or CRO/CDMO environments.

5+ years of experience within the life sciences sector.

Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred.

Experience working across multiple EMEA markets strongly preferred.

Strong technical aptitude, with direct experience in antibodies, proteins, and ELISA technologies.

Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, IVDR, and regulated market expectations.

Ability to articulate the value of a broad and diverse portfolio.

Experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM systems.
