Role Description
The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is seeking an experienced fundraising professional who will supervise all aspects of a peer-to-peer event-based portfolio, including oversight of event revenue and donor & fundraiser development and engagement. This self-starting individual will be responsible for driving fundraising success for Step Out Walk and Corporate Partnerships in the Southern California area. The Development Director must live within 50 miles of Los Angeles, CA.
Primary duties of the Director of Development will include:

Development and management of existing and new teams, individual fundraisers, corporate partners, event leadership, and volunteers.

Identifying new opportunities to grow the local peer-to-peer portfolio across all fundraising channels to increase revenue.

Managing and stewarding a portfolio of corporate & friends and family teams, individual participants, volunteers, and corporate leaders.

Accountability for significant revenue targets and influencing the strategic implementation of local campaign initiatives.
Qualifications

Bachelorβs degree required.

5+ years of professional experience in empowering individuals through peer-to-peer fundraising, events, leadership, volunteerism, and corporate partnerships.

Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to present ADAβs mission and how to get involved with groups of all sizes.

Demonstrated experience recruiting individuals to support an organization.

Knowledge of software including Microsoft, DonorDrive (or other P2P platforms), and CRM.

Ability to travel as needed for meetings and events required.

Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends as needed to support events.

Authorization to work in the US required.

Reliable transportation to travel.

Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen pounds.

Requirements

Formulate, implement, and lead strategies and tactics for fundraising and development activities.

Ability to manage and review daily campaign data through reports, dashboards, and revenue analysis.

Regularly monitor the performance of a fundraising portfolio.

Develop and execute plans for retention, upgrade, and acquisition of applicable areas of business focus.

Data mining resulting in the identification and acquisition of participants, team captains, corporate partners, sponsors, event leadership, and community leaders.

Maintain accurate and complete records of donor interactions within systems and trackers.

Track and report on progress, tactics, trends, financials, and other KPIs.

Provide frequent financial input including budget management, forecasts, and revenue reports.

Collaborate with an outstanding team of Field staff as well as the larger organization.
