Role Description
Axios is hiring an Associate Director for local client partnerships to accelerate revenue growth across our local markets through new partner acquisition and intentional account expansion. This is a high-impact, revenue-driving role responsible for building pipeline, closing new business, and expanding Axios’ footprint across local markets. You will report to the Managing Director of Regional Client Partnerships.

Own and grow a local territory by developing and executing a clear outbound sales strategy, focusing on net-new revenue and category expansion.

Build and maintain a robust pipeline through consistent prospecting, networking, and market engagement.

Identify, prioritize, and win new business with local and regional advertisers, leading the full sales cycle from outreach to close.
Qualifications

5+ years’ experience in sales, specifically in the digital media/news industry, with a strong emphasis on outbound/new business development.

Proven track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets, particularly through new logo acquisition.

Strong presence and confidence in selling to senior decision-makers.

Experience developing territory or category-level sales strategies.

Understanding of digital media, online marketing technology, and Axios’ competitive landscape.

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to lead deal execution across internal teams.

Existing relationships within local/regional advertiser and agency ecosystems preferred.

Highly motivated, resilient, and energized by prospecting and closing.

Willingness to travel and represent Axios in-market.
Requirements

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $66,000 - $87,000, dependent on numerous factors, including location, work experience, and skills.

Total compensation includes incremental variable compensation based on sales territory, contingent upon the successful achievement of predetermined sales targets.
