Role Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join a specialist engineering and construction business providing technical solutions across the residential property market. This is a commercially focused role for someone who enjoys developing a territory, winning new business and managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to order and delivery.

You will take ownership of a defined geographical area and manage the full commercial process across residential projects. Responsibilities will include:

• Developing and managing a regional sales pipeline
• Qualifying inbound enquiries and identifying new opportunities
• Conducting virtual and site-based customer meetings
• Understanding customer requirements and technical project information
• Working with internal engineering teams to develop appropriate solutions
• Preparing quotations and commercial proposals
• Following up opportunities and progressing them through to order
• Building long-term relationships with customers and industry contacts
• Managing your own territory, activity levels and sales forecasts
• Maintaining accurate CRM records
• Supporting customers through project delivery
• Identifying referral, repeat-business and account-development opportunities

Requirements

• Proven B2B sales or business development experience
• Experience developing new business and managing a territory
• Strong pipeline and opportunity-management skills
• Comfortable selling technical products, services or solutions
• Able to understand customer requirements and work with technical specialists
• Commercially confident with quotations and negotiations
• Strong relationship-building skills
• Self-motivated and comfortable working from home
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel throughout the region
• Experience within residential construction, subsidence, foundation repair or ground engineering would be advantageous, but is not essential
• A technical, construction, engineering or surveying qualification would also be beneficial
