Role Description
Join Abiomed at J&J as an Area Manager for covering Queensland, New South Wales and New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing clinical and commercial team. You will drive patient growth, revenue performance and adoption of Impella therapy through effective territory strategy, clinical education and meaningful partnerships with healthcare professionals—ultimately expanding access to life-changing heart recovery solutions and improving patient outcomes.
Responsibilities

Lead and inspire the regional team—develop clinical and commercial talent across QLD, NSW and NZ fostering accountability, collaboration and high performance.

Drive sustainable commercial growth—own regional patient and revenue targets, turn strategy into territory plans and prioritise resources for maximum impact.

Champion clinical excellence and patient outcomes—ensure reliable implant, on-call and post-implant support while maintaining consistent practices and safe therapy delivery.

Accelerate adoption of Impella therapy—equip clinical teams to identify suitable patients and integrate the therapy into routine care.

Build influential customer partnerships—engage clinical, hospital and purchasing stakeholders to build advocacy, address access barriers and demonstrate value.

Expand regional access and utilisation—launch new sites, deliver targeted programs and use market insights to grow awareness and long-term adoption.
Qualifications
-
5+ years’ experience in hospital environments such as ICU, Cath Lab or theatre, ideally with clinical qualifications in nursing, perfusion or a related field.

3+ years’ experience in interventional cardiology medical devices, including commercial delivery, clinical training and education.

Proven ability to introduce new therapies, engage multiple stakeholders and communicate clinical and economic value.

Strong relationships with interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, intensivists or heart failure specialists are preferred.

Excellent communication, planning and relationship-building skills, with a proactive and patient-focused approach.

Able to work independently, participate in an on-call roster and travel across the territory for case support.
