Role Description
STAT is expanding its Amazon practice and we are looking for a rare combination: someone who understands Amazon deeply, not just the industry around it, who can both execute the work and win new business independently. This role is the engine for growing STAT's network of Amazon agency partners.
This is not a role for someone who understands recovery or deductions generically. The Amazon marketplace is its own world, 1P Vendor Central dynamics, co-op structures, chargeback mechanics, and you need to navigate that world fluently on day one.
This role is structured as a doer + seller combined: you'll pitch the partnership, close it, and get into the work alongside the client. That model is the norm in this space and is not as rare or daunting as it might sound in other retail verticals.
Strategic Partnership Management
-
Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership strategy targeting Amazon-focused agencies, with an initial emphasis on agencies where STAT can establish deep, embedded relationships.
-
Identify key agency partners, understand their client mix and pain points, and align STAT's Amazon services to create mutually beneficial partnerships.
-
Continuously assess market trends, to identify gaps where STAT's expertise is most defensible and valuable.
-
Work to displace incumbent providers at larger enterprise agencies through demonstrating superior 1P depth and outcomes.
Relationship Building
-
Establish and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders within Amazon agencies.
-
Serve as STAT's primary point of contact and ambassador in all Amazon agency partnership discussions.
-
Foster ongoing collaboration between agency teams and STAT's internal Amazon delivery team to ensure client outcomes exceed expectations and deepen the partnership.
Business Development
-
Source, pitch, and close new agency partnership agreements, owning the full sales cycle from first contact through signed partnership.
-
Develop joint business plans with agency partners that clearly articulate growth opportunities for both parties.
-
Monitor the performance of active partnerships and proactively suggest service improvements, expansions, or new use cases.
-
Leverage STAT's existing client pipeline to supplement outbound efforts and provide warm introductions into new agency relationships.
Amazon Delivery & Execution
-
Roll up your sleeves and contribute directly to Amazon account work, auditing, deduction recovery, Vendor Central issue resolution, so you can speak credibly about what STAT does and represent it accurately in every pitch.
-
Stay current on Amazon's evolving vendor and seller policies, co-op agreements, chargeback categories, and platform changes that affect STAT's clients and agency partners.
Qualifications
-
You have hands-on Amazon expertise, specifically Vendor Central (1P) and can hold a sophisticated conversation about co-op, chargebacks, shortages, and margin recovery without needing a subject matter expert beside you.
-
You have worked at or extensively with Amazon agencies, giving you a working understanding of how agencies are structured, how they serve brand clients, and what problems they are trying to solve for those clients.
-
You have an existing network within the Amazon agency ecosystem and can walk in with warm relationships rather than starting from zero.
-
You are comfortable being a doer and a seller simultaneously, closing the deal and then doing some of the work is the norm in this world, and you thrive in that model.
-
You are highly self-motivated, independent, and results-driven with a verifiable track record of building and closing new partnerships or accounts.
-
You are comfortable operating remotely in a fast-moving environment and do not require a hub location (NWA, Minneapolis, or otherwise) to be effective; your network and your calendar are your office.
-
If your background is from a large brand rather than an agency, you compensate with an exceptional sales pitch, a strong professional network, and the ability to tap into STAT's existing client pipeline to generate early momentum.
-
You reflect STAT's values: Strategic, Nimble, Inquisitive, Proactive, Empathetic, and Straightforward.
Ideal Background
-
8+ years of experience working directly in or alongside Amazon agencies (account management, business development, or a senior-level delivery role).
-
Deep, working knowledge of Amazon Vendor Central: co-op agreements, deduction and chargeback categories, operational compliance, and 1P vs. 3P tradeoffs.
-
Demonstrated success building and maintaining agency or channel partnershipsβnot just managing accounts, but growing them.
-
Familiarity with the competitive landscape of Amazon service providers and a clear point of view on where STAT's differentiation is strongest.
Benefits
-
Generous 401k match.
-
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and eligible dependents.
-
Disability and life insurance coverage.
-
Access to virtual healthcare resources.
-
Flexible paid time off policy.
-
Paid parental leave.
