Role Description

Outside Sales Representative – New Business Development

Local Presence Matters: Although this is a remote opportunity, candidates must reside near or within the assigned territories to effectively manage customer relationships and support travel requirements.

• Territory: Northeast Regional Territory, specifically covering Western Massachusetts (Chicopee/Springfield hub) and Western New York (Cheektowaga/Buffalo hub).
• Residency: Candidate must reside within a commutable distance of either the Chicopee, MA or Cheektowaga, NY metropolitan areas.
• Travel Expectation: This role requires up to 50% travel to manage and grow the secondary market.

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented sales professional who thrives on building relationships, creating new business opportunities, and delivering profitable growth. We are looking for a true hunter who enjoys being in front of customers, uncovering opportunities, and winning new business.

While maintaining and growing existing accounts, this role will focus heavily on business development and expanding Greif’s presence within key markets.

Qualifications

• A true Road Warrior—comfortable with frequent local and overnight travel throughout the assigned territory.
• A hunter mindset with a passion for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities.
• Industrial packaging experience is a plus, but a proven track record of sales success, customer engagement, and territory management is essential.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated professional who can work independently while delivering measurable results.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically requires 4–8 years of sales, business development, or account management experience.
• Experience in industrial packaging, manufacturing, distribution, or related industrial markets is preferred.
• Demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and business development objectives.

Total Target Compensation Range

The total target compensation range for this position, including sales incentives, is $125,100 – $200,200. Typically, a competitive range for new hires will fall between $130,000 – $160,000. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position is eligible for participation in the company’s sales compensation plan.
