Role Description

This role involves serving the banking needs of small businesses and proactively operating at the heart of the local business community to build new relationships.

  • Build a book of business with a loan goal of $10 million annually.
  • Client base will consist of owner-occupied commercial real estate, owner-operated businesses, and other SBA eligible 7A loans.
  • Responsible for sales and outreach efforts including lead lists, internal and external referrals, COIs, cold calling, and other methods to attract business.
  • Drive relationship management by identifying cross-selling opportunities and introducing Product partners to provide a full banking proposition.
  • Engage in joint calling and prospecting with Product partners as needed.
  • Develop a targeted COI (center of influence) list and create a detailed plan to build relationships that lead to referral business.
  • Build individual market profile and the profile of Customers Bank in the local community.
  • Utilize resources/tools available to manage the call/relationship management consistent sales process and activities.
  • Make a target number of in-person calls to prospects, customers, COIs, and internal partners weekly and monthly.
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of customers, expected to grow by deepening existing relationships.
  • Focus on new business development for lending and deposits.
  • General knowledge of SBA credit underwriting with proven ability to develop, retain, and expand relationships with COIs.
  • Use and understand Salesforce and all bank technology tools necessary for success in performing processes and following procedures.
  • Maintain weekly and all required pipeline reports.
  • Input credit applications and packages into the Salesforce system.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in SBA 7a loan production.
  • Experience with 504 loans is a plus.
  • Established network of referral partners (COIs/Brokers).
  • Strong understanding of credit underwriting.
  • Strong business development skills.
  • Able to work in a changing high-tech and mobile environment.
  • Outgoing personality.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • High emotional intelligence.
  • Open to learning and growth.
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements for lending.

  • Technology Skills: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook, TEAMS.
