Role Description
The Sales Manager provides leadership and management of the direction, planning, and execution of sales activities for expanding its sales achievement in the areas of Military, Industry, Automotive, Medical, Data Centre, Networking, and Consumers.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership
-
Works with Taiwan Management and corporate headquarters to manage all aspects of the responsible area’s business: goals and reporting, product allocations, leveraging resources, pricing.

Develop a vision of what the Sales team should be and how to better penetrate the market.

Provides roadmap/business plan for the area to ensure alignment.
-
Pull entire organization forward and drive output from other teams outside of Sales: Technical support, Marketing, and QA.

Work closely with corporate headquarters and distributors to eliminate potential roadblocks to business development.

Maintain high energy and passion for the job, creating a high sense of urgency.

Command respect throughout the company and with customers.

Takes ownership of corporate policies and defines own policies where absent.

Lead and drive the team to higher standards.

People Management
-
Establish a culture of ownership by setting goals, driving execution, monitoring metrics, and adjusting (PDCA).

Facilitate and foster consistent communication and good working relationships between the Sales team and other teams across the Company worldwide.

Build executive relationships with key customers and mentor staff to do the same.
-
Establish self as a trusted mentor by coaching, directing, and helping the team with career planning.

Lead the team to successfully execute against a plan to sell all products/services.

Sales Promotion
-
Develop vision of responsible area growth with deeper penetration into fewer accounts and continuously communicate the process to Sales.

Generate Business plan for top key accounts including opportunity mapping, competitive analysis, and organization mapping.

Recognize area potential and expand business into new customer base to establish new accounts.
-
Develop deep understanding of customers’ markets, competencies, and obstacles.

Engage with FAE to build technical and business credibility with customers’ management.

Drive Design Registrations and Design Wins to Regional VP’s defined target.

Measure forecast accuracy based upon weekly revenue and account commitments.
-
Demonstrate exceptional concern for solving customer problems.
-
Coach Sales to develop strategic plans and tactical sales strategies for deepening relationships with customers.

Coach the team to hunt and persuade customers.

Channel Management
-
Establish clear partitioning between channel Sales and Altera Sales teams.
-
Assure sales proficiency in the Distribution channel by sponsoring development programs.
-
Engage with distributor management to set goals and measure output of distributor sales teams.
Qualifications
-
Deep understanding of semiconductor sales process.
-
FPGA experience will be highly preferred.
-
Understanding of semiconductor technologies (Device Technology, Design Technology, System Technology).

Understanding of Industry, Automotive, Medical, and Consumer Business.
-
More than 8 years of Semiconductors (Logic Devices) business experience.
-
Global Business experience.
-
Experience working for foreign-owned organizations or having overseas assignments.
-
Experience conducting global business.
-
Worked closely with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
-
Logically communicate with a variety of stakeholders to drive the best solution and conclusion.

Good command of English.
