Role Description
The regional sales manager is responsible for growing both direct and channel revenue in the defined territory to meet and exceed quarterly quotas. This individual will exhibit a passion for and track record of success. They will develop and help to close the sales opportunities with end users and will fulfill business through the appropriate sales channel. The RSM is also responsible for the development and support of distributor partners in the territory.
- Meet and exceed the sales quota for the defined territory.
- Responsible for relationship and overall account management of your customers and channel partners.
- Accurately forecast demand on a monthly basis of products to be sold in the region.
- Responsible for all account development activities including account strategy development, execution and management; ongoing communication of value proposition; price and profitability management; initiation and involvement with RFP responses, where applicable.
- Manage interface between key accounts in your region and company leadership.
- Identify and engage with key decision makers and other stakeholders.
- Understand the institution’s sustainability and energy use objectives in order to become the ULT provider of choice.
- Develop standardization programs tied to sustainability for customers within your territory.
- Coordinate activities at accounts with multi-location facilities with sales team.
- Maintain a robust and up-to-date opportunity pipeline in CRM tool.
- Work with customers and the electric utilities to identify and capture any available rebates and continue to develop and promote rebates.
- Partner with the Global Cooling’s Independent Service Organizations to ensure customers service needs are met in a timely manner.
- Provide competitive market and account info and intelligence in an effort to enhance product offering.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate ability to maintain and grow senior-level customer relationships across multiple customer functional areas such as Sustainability, Sourcing, Research, Facilities, etc.
- Strategic selling, negotiating, and project management skills. Understand customers business drivers and priorities and map sales strategies to meet these needs.
- A passion for success, positive attitude and team centric approach to winning.
- Ability to lead a team of distribution partners, enable them for success and maintain mindshare with them.
- Excellent communication, project management and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the territory.
- Knowledge of our product portfolio and ability to articulate unique value proposition.
- Proficient with standard business productivity tools and mobile application extensions of such including SFDC.
Requirements
- A passion for life sciences and a track record of sales success.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years selling success in related products or industries.
- Experience with distribution selling as well as managing direct customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years experience.
- Advanced degree.
- Laboratory, research or pharma production experience.
