Role Description

Khan Academy is looking for a passionate Sales Account Executive to join our District Partnership team to help change education. Our team is focused on driving impact for as many students as possible by expanding our Khan Academy Districts partnerships to support schools and school districts across the country.

  • Work closely with partners to provide solutions that will drive engagement of Khan Academy’s products and services.
  • Focus on expanding partnerships with states, schools, and school districts in the Southeast, primarily Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama, & Mississippi.
  • Set meetings with target customers to demonstrate the value of Khan Academy’s products and services, including Khanmigo.
  • Familiarize yourself with Khan Academy content and tools available to partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth sales process and hit yearly sales goals.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time in the Southeast Region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure strong leads for new partnerships and nurture these through the full sales cycle.
  • Engage in robust lead generation for partnerships that meet our criteria.
  • Nurture outbound and qualified inbound leads to determine the best fit between district needs and Khan Academy’s offerings.
  • Engage other Khan Academy team members as needed to move leads through the sales cycle.
  • Develop effective and accurate proposals that meet the needs of both the district and Khan Academy.
  • Close sales and coordinate with the Southeast Senior Sales Manager on the outbound generation process.
  • Become the main sales point of contact for existing Khan Academy District partners in your territory.
  • Meet monthly and yearly sales targets while tracking and reporting on the status of all current leads.
  • Identify and attend relevant national and regional EdTech conferences.
  • Assist the Inside Sales Associate on processing inbound leads.
  • Work closely with Senior Segment Marketing for School Districts to provide feedback on sales materials.
  • Coordinate with District Success and Professional Learning teams for successful partner transitions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to offer additional services to relevant target districts.
  • Coordinate with the RFP Manager on creating and submitting responses to RFPs/RFQs.
  • Work with the legal team to process contracts and agreements.
  • Be a voice of the customer to product teams by relaying partner feedback.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in sales or partnerships roles, with at least 2 years selling or partnering into US schools or school districts.
  • Proactive, self-motivated sales professional with strong networking skills.
  • Rolodex of district contacts and decision makers in the Southeast.
  • Ability to understand the needs of all stakeholders in the school district ecosystem.
  • Experience with outbound lead generation and maintaining an active sales pipeline.
  • Experience using a CRM to track all stages of a sales pipeline, especially Salesforce.
  • Understanding of districts’ procurement processes, including experience with RFPs/RFQs is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of the K-12 Education market and EdTech providers.
  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and think creatively.
  • A passion for education and driving meaningful change.
  • Strong understanding of the K-12 curricular landscape across states in your territory.

  • Proven cross-cultural competency skills.
