Role Description
You will be joining the Brokerage Sales Team. Our job is to grow our customer wallet share for acquisitions, dispositions, and title on their purchases and sales of rental properties. We compete with several other tech-enabled brokers, as well as local brokerages and title companies. Our ambition is to be the best call for every institutional investor transacting in SFR. We move heaven and earth to get deals done for our customers, leveraging our advantage in technology, market position, and data.
The Brokerage Sales is tasked with expanding our industry-leading position amongst the top institutional investors in SFR to a broader institutional audience. This customer base is historically underserved and looking for their partners to provide them the edge to vault them into the ranks of their largest peers. The brokerage sales associate will have an opportunity to build relationships with this group from the ground up as they grow, and then help the team drive our continued expansion to the middle markets and beyond.
You're expected to:
- Pitch clients on using our acquisition and disposition services
- Adapt/integrate our offering to client workflows
- Handle escalations for issues on in-flight deals
- Onboard new accounts
- Call and visit new and existing clients to ensure that we are their first call for brokerage opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from competitive college or university, with a major in economics, finance, accounting, political science, or a STEM field strongly preferred
- Min 2 yrs experience in transactional sales (ex. Financial sales & trading, commercial RE brokerage, appraisal/valuation, title, commodities/freight, etc.)
- Excellent Excel modeling skills
- Excellent Slides presentation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Location: San Francisco or New York is highly preferred
Requirements
- Experience in transaction coordination or brokerage support does not qualify
Bonus Points
- Specific knowledge/interest of the single family resi market (SFR preferred, MBS, whole loan, STR, ok)
- SQL query skills
Compensation and Benefits
- Mainstay’s compensation varies by U.S. geographic market to align with local labor costs. For this position, the base salary range in the San Francisco Bay Area is $100,000-$115,000, with substantial opportunity for variable cash compensation incentives, on-target earnings (OTE) tend to run 2x the base salary.
