Role Description

The Research Specialist 2, Thrive Center for Children, Families, and Communities at Georgetown University is dedicated to fostering a stronger society by promoting the wellbeing of ALL children, adults, and families and creating more inclusive communities. The role involves:

• Implementing community-based, mixed methods evaluation protocols.
• Ongoing data collection, entry, and management.
• Report generation.
• Involvement in various research and evaluation activities as new projects emerge.
• Conducting literature search and synthesis.
• Maintaining databases.
• Qualitative data collection, coding, and analysis.
• Aiding in the creation of scientific presentations.
• General office and administrative assignments.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Supervising and participating in qualitative data collection and coding.
• Maintaining project databases and disbursing participant incentives.
• Supporting the PI and Co-I in data analysis and report generation.
• Convening meetings with internal and external project team members.

The Research Specialist 2 will be supervised by the Administrator of the Thrive Center and work under the programmatic direction of faculty leaders of Thrive and the Early Childhood Innovation Network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with at least 3-5 years relevant experience; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis and software (e.g., Excel and Atlas.ti).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a research and evaluation library and catalogue of resources.
• Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of library and web-related research.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
• Familiar with database management and data visualization.

Requirements

• The individual will be required to travel within the Washington, DC area to complete program activities.
