Role Description
The Protein Analyst will work closely with other members of the Terrain function across American AgCredit, Farm Credit Services of America, Ag Country, Capital Farm Credit, and Frontier Farm Credit (the Associations) to support thought leadership to customers, prospective customers, and association leadership. This role centers on the protein industry and related markets.

Assist in generating original, data-driven research.

Support engagement with customers at industry events and through participation in industry groups.

Assist with data collection, analysis, and research related to beef markets and adjacent sectors.

Support senior analysts in developing insights on market conditions, risks, and opportunities.

Motivated to learn how beef, protein, field crop, input, and value chains interact.
Qualifications
-
Masterβs degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field.

OR Bachelorβs degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field and more than 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in agricultural research, analysis, or a closely related field.

Knowledge of U.S. agriculture, with a desire to deepen understanding of the beef value chain.

Basic knowledge of, and willingness to learn more about, risk management practices in the livestock industry.

Training or experience with agricultural data sets, databases, and financial analysis.

Ability to apply statistical, econometric, and analytical methods to real-world market questions.

Written and verbal communication skills, with the willingness to learn how to translate analysis into clear, compelling insights for external audiences.

Ability to communicate with coworkers and stakeholders.

Ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting.

Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer for prolonged durations.

Ability to communicate effectively, work independently, and collaborate within a team environment.

Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds may be required.

Work during established business hours, with occasional evening and/or weekend work as needed.
