Role Description

Revelio Labs is looking for an applied Economist to join the Economics and Client Success team (CST). The Economics team at Revelio Labs is charged with analyzing and deriving insights from our data, writing our weekly newsletter, collaborating with external partners and media, and delivering custom insights to clients through consulting projects. CST works directly with our clients and prospective clients to deliver data and custom insights and help them leverage our data to address a wide range of business challenges. The Economics/CST team serves as a bridge between data science, engineering, sales, and business development, collaborating across internal teams and external partners.

As an Economist at Revelio Labs, you will:

• Contribute to writing the weekly newsletter, including coming up with interesting questions, analyzing and interpreting data, visualizing key insights, and telling the story.
• Interact with clients, deliver data and custom insights, and work with journalists interested in our findings and stories.
• Work closely with the sales team to support new client engagements and act as a data expert.
• Contribute to large-scale research projects with external collaborators.
• Represent the company at conferences and industry events.
• Provide thought leadership on workforce intelligence topics.

Qualifications

• PhD in Economics or closely related field.
• Experience in applied economic research, business journalism, consulting, or a data analysis capacity is preferred.
• Proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, Plotly).
• Proficiency in SQL.

Requirements

• Experience doing empirical research on large microlevel data.
• Interest in labor market trends, business analytics, and human resources.
• Ability to ask the right questions and tell an interesting story with data.
• Strong communication skills to convey nuanced ideas with clarity.
• Interest in solving business problems and brainstorming data applications.

Benefits

• Salary range for this position in New York City is $145,000 - $200,000 per year.
• Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
• Eligibility to participate in the company’s equity program.
