[Hiring] Associate Director, Agriculture & Food Quantitative Analysis @S&P Global

Role Description

IHS Global Inc. seeks an Associate Director, Agriculture & Food Quantitative Analysis who will analyze fundamental supply and demand drivers impacting global agricultural markets. Responsibilities include:

• Work with teams covering commodity markets with a focus on quantitative modelling.
• Collaborate closely with market leads and individual commodity analysts to ensure overall quality and alignment of analysis.
• Track developments impacting supply/demand producers, processors, exporters, and importers.
• Lead interaction with customers presenting both commodity-specific analysis and global analysis.
• Convey results of research through various outlets including internal meetings, written reports for clients, the S&P Global Commodity Insights platform, formal presentations, and informal interactions with clients via conference calls and emails.
• Work cooperatively with other areas of the Agribusiness Intelligence business, contributing expertise to consulting projects and other activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Applied Economics, or related economic field.
• Two (2) years of experience in economic analysis or a related occupation.
• Experience must include:
  • Agricultural crops market analysis and agricultural commodity futures price analysis.
  • Research of complex economic conditions and their relation to/implications for assigned markets.
  • Research of commodity supply chain, particularly the risks and challenges operating in commodity markets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with R and Python.
  • Quantitative model building, including time series models.

Requirements

• The anticipated base salary range for this position is $128,945 to $206,350.
• Final base salary will be based on the individual’s geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses & certifications.
• This role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
• This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
