Role Description
This role involves evaluating internal controls and ensuring compliance across retail deposits, loan operations, and client services.
- Conduct internal audits, including SOX compliance testing, focusing on retail deposits, loan operations, and client services.
- Evaluate internal controls' effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to banking regulations, including FDIC, OCC, and Federal Reserve guidelines.
- Analyze audit findings, prepare audit reports, and present recommendations to management.
- Assess operational and financial processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risk exposure.
- Work closely with compliance, risk management, and operations teams to strengthen internal controls.
- Stay informed of emerging risks, regulatory changes, and best practices in banking audit functions.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of internal audit experience in a community or regional bank setting.
- Strong expertise in retail deposit operations, loan processing, and client services.
- Hands-on experience with SOX testing, internal controls, and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of COSO, FDICIA, and banking audit frameworks.
- Proficiency in audit software, data analytics tools, and Excel.
- CIA, CPA, CISA, or CRCM certification is a plus.
- Ability to work onsite in Miami, FL 2-3 days per month.
