Role Description

This role works as part of the technical test engineering team and will be focused on testing enterprise and informatics software systems to support cancer trials and research. • As an individual contributor, prioritize and complete testing tasks on assigned projects.
• Develop test scenarios and procedures to ensure enterprise and informatics software systems are scalable, reliable, and performant.
• Write automated tests and integrate them with the CI/CD pipeline. Work with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Participate in SCRUM Sprint planning, standup, review, and retrospective meetings.
• Work in a collaborative cross-functional team environment to move features (JIRA tasks) across all tiers in a CI/CD Agile SCRUM environment.
• Contribute articles to the technical knowledge base to support knowledge sharing across teams.
• Be a proactive part of the software test engineering team, looking to make improvements to our engineering practice.
• Shadow senior team members during interviews.
• Mentor junior members of the team.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Experience coding in Python, C#/.NET, Javascript, Ruby, or comparable programming languages.
• Experience testing hardware and software for enterprise and informatics systems that run in a cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) environment.
• Develop and define major and minor characteristics of quality, including quality metrics and scoring parameters.
• Experience working in an agile development environment with methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban.
• Experience using Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with behavior-driven development testing using frameworks such as Cucumber and Behave.
• Experience with performance and load testing using tools like K6, LoadRunner, JMeter, and Artillery.
• 3 years of software testing experience in one or more programming languages.
• Possession of a Bachelor or Graduate degree in a technical field such as Computer Science from an accredited college or university (according to CHEA).
• Working knowledge in Section 508 accessibility testing.

Requirements

• Experience with AI-assisted engineering practices and tools such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Claude Code, as well as conducting efficient and accurate code reviews of AI-generated code.
• 4 years of software testing experience in one or more programming languages.
• ISTQB Foundation and/or Agile testing certification is a plus.
• Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) certification is a plus.
