Role Description

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) requires a Software Quality Assurance Analyst 3 (SQAA3) to build and support automated testing frameworks and tests that will be used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to established standards. The Software Quality Assurance Analyst will build (write code) and support automated testing, with a specific emphasis on the creation, execution, and management of automated tests across all levels of testing, including:

• Unit testing
• Functional testing
• Integration testing
• User acceptance testing
• Production deployment validation testing

IDHW seeks a candidate with demonstrated skills and experience in building automated testing frameworks. The candidate needs to have experience and expertise in creating test plans and test scripts from the customer's perspective to ensure that automation delivers the intended results and satisfies the specified business requirements. They will build automation to meet the technical needs of reusability, sustainability, and open standards, and to maximize the return on the investment in automation.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with strong experience in software testing and a growing focus on AI-driven quality practices. This role combines traditional QA disciplines with modern AI/ML testing strategies, including:

• Validating AI models
• Automating test flows with AI-assisted tooling
• Improving product quality using intelligent test frameworks

This project is being developed using the Scrum (Agile) development methodology. The candidate should have demonstrated experience with executing and managing automated testing in an Agile development environment.

Qualifications

• Integrating automated testing processes
• Solving complex quality assurance data-processing problems
• Designing and implementing test automation frameworks
• Web Service test automation using the SoapUI tool
• Cloud & Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Performance & Load Testing (JMeter, Gatling, K6)
• API Testing & Automation (Postman, Rest Assured, etc.)
• CI/CD Integration (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Knowledge of agile software development, continuous integration, and automated testing
• Experience with testing batch, flat file, and web service-based interfaces
• Experience with automated regression test strategies and tools

Requirements

• Software automation testing and quality assurance experience: 6 Years (Required)
• Expertise in test automation skills: 5 Years (Required)
• Experience in Test Driven Development, Acceptance Test Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development: 4 Years (Required)
• Experience creating automated tests and regression test suites with testing tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Selenium Grid, Web Load, Jenkins, JUnit: 3 Years (Required)
• Knowledge/experience to implement and maintain framework components to support test execution: 3 Years (Required)
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environment: 2 Years (Required)
• Experience in Java programming/scripting: 2 Years (Desired)
• Experience using AI to develop and execute automated test cases: 1 Year (Desired)
