Are you an experienced mortgage underwriter who takes pride in accuracy, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance? We're looking for a highly skilled Quality Control Underwriter / QC Auditor to play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our client's mortgage origination process.

In this position, you'll leverage your underwriting expertise to review and analyze mortgage loan files, identify risk trends, ensure compliance with agency and investor guidelines, and help drive operational excellence. As a Quality Control Underwriter, you will:

• Perform comprehensive post-closing and pre-funding reviews of mortgage loan files to ensure compliance with:
  • FNMA, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA, and Non-QM guidelines
  • Federal and state regulatory requirements
  • Investor and client-specific underwriting standards
• Identify underwriting, documentation, compliance, and fraud-related deficiencies.
• Prepare detailed and professional audit reports that clearly articulate findings, risk levels, and recommendations.
• Analyze loan quality trends and provide insight to support continuous process improvement.
• Partner with leadership and audit management to achieve departmental goals and quality objectives.
• Manage an assigned pipeline of loan reviews while consistently meeting productivity and quality expectations.
• Maintain accurate production reporting and communicate audit results effectively.
• Stay current on evolving agency, investor, and regulatory requirements impacting mortgage originations.
• Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of residential mortgage underwriting experience.
• Extensive experience underwriting conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and/or Non-QM loans.
• Deep knowledge of:
  • FNMA and Freddie Mac guidelines
  • FHA, VA, and USDA requirements
  • Non-conforming and investor-specific underwriting standards
• Previous experience in Mortgage Quality Control, Risk Management, Audit, or Post-Closing Review preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in mortgage fraud detection and prevention.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements, including:
  • RESPA
  • TILA
  • Regulation B
  • Fair Lending
  • Dodd-Frank
  • AML/BSA
  • Other applicable federal and state lending regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
• Experience working with LOS, underwriting, and quality control platforms.
• Ability to efficiently manage a high-volume review pipeline while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
