Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manual Tester to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. As a Senior Manual Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test strategies, meticulously identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating effectively with development and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. This role offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise in manual testing and contribute significantly to the success of our projects.
- Analyze project requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to create detailed and well-structured test plans.
- Develop comprehensive and reusable test cases, ensuring adequate test coverage for various functionalities and scenarios.
- Define test data requirements and create or identify appropriate test data.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of testing standards and best practices.
- Execute manual test cases with precision and attention to detail.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, usability, and exploratory testing.
- Document test execution results accurately and identify, meticulously document, and report software defects with clear and concise steps to reproduce, severity, and priority.
- Track the status of defects throughout the defect lifecycle, ensuring timely collaboration with developers to understand and troubleshoot reported defects.
- Participate in defect triage meetings to prioritize and assign defects.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and processes throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on software quality to the development team.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QA process.
- Manage own workload effectively and prioritize tasks in a remote setting.
- Demonstrate strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Utilize collaboration tools and communication channels effectively to interact with the team remotely.
- May provide guidance and mentorship to junior testers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and knowledge base articles.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of proven experience as a Manual Tester, with a demonstrable track record of creating detailed test plans and test cases.
- Strong proficiency in executing various manual testing techniques.
- Solid understanding of the software defect lifecycle and experience using defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, Azure DevOps).
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay organized in a remote setting.
- A good understanding of software development principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in testing web applications.
- Experience in testing mobile applications (iOS and/or Android).
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with performance testing or security testing concepts.
- Knowledge of test automation.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms.
