Role Description

As part of our global Engineering organization, you will help ensure the quality, scalability, reliability, and performance of our products through test automation, performance engineering, tooling, and continuous quality practices. This role is suitable for engineers across a range of experience levels, from early-career professionals developing automation expertise to experienced engineers leading quality and performance initiatives across complex distributed systems.

What you'll do

• Test automation & Quality engineering
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites.
  • Automate functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
  • Develop reusable automation libraries, utilities, mock services, and simulators.
  • Ensure appropriate automation coverage for new features and releases.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Improve testing efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
• Performance & Reliability testing
  • Design and execute load, stress, endurance, scalability, and capacity tests.
  • Create realistic workload and traffic simulations.
  • Analyze performance metrics and identify system bottlenecks.
  • Investigate application, infrastructure, and network behaviour under load.
  • Support performance benchmarking and system optimization initiatives.
  • Produce performance reports and recommendations.
• Development & Tooling
  • Develop internal testing tools and frameworks using Python and related technologies.
  • Support debugging and root-cause analysis by analysing logs, metrics, and system behaviour.
  • Build utilities to improve testing efficiency and engineering productivity.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to improve testability and observability.
• Collaboration & Agile delivery
  • Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies.
  • Work closely with Software Engineers, Architects, DevOps Engineers, Product Owners, and other Quality Engineers.
  • Review automation solutions and testing approaches.
  • Contribute to release validation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Share knowledge and mentor team members where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Experience in some or all of the following areas (requirements may vary depending on seniority level):
• Automation testing
  • Experience with Test Automation Frameworks, Functional Testing, Regression Testing, API Testing, Integration Testing, End-to-End Testing.
  • Tools such as Robot Framework, PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, similar automation technologies.
• Performance testing
  • Experience with Apache JMeter, Load Testing, Stress Testing, Endurance Testing, Scalability Testing, Capacity Planning.
  • Exposure to tools such as Spirent Avalanche or similar solutions is desirable.
• Programming & Scripting
  • Experience with Python (preferred), Shell Scripting, Java or JavaScript (beneficial).
  • Knowledge of Software Development Principles, Debugging Techniques, Automation Development.
• Linux & Systems
  • Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Log analysis and system diagnostics.
  • Command-line proficiency.
• APIs & Databases
  • Experience with REST APIs, HTTP / HTTPS, SQL Databases, NoSQL Databases.
• DevOps & CI/CD
  • Experience with Git / GitLab, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Automated testing pipelines.
• Cloud & Modern Technologies
  • Exposure to AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud-native applications.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Video streaming platforms, OTT services, Content Delivery Networks (CDN), Telecommunications, Media technology, Distributed systems, Cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of video streaming protocols and traffic patterns is highly desirable.
