Role Description

The QA Analyst is responsible for the manual testing of our applications, ensuring the quality of the products we deliver to our customers. This is accomplished by developing and maintaining a repository of test cases in TestRail that covers the functionality, usability, interoperability, and scalability of our systems. Alongside manual testing, the QA Analyst contributes to the team's growing test automation initiatives, helping to identify good candidates for automation and supporting their design and upkeep.

This role requires a meticulous individual who is both flexible and autonomous. The person working in this role should be comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment. They should be able to properly manage their time to meet company deadlines, and they are expected to establish themselves as subject matter experts on the various products produced by their respective teams. A good understanding of software/development quality assurance will also be vitally important, as will curiosity about how automation and AI-assisted approaches can strengthen our testing practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• 3+ years of experience in manual testing
• Knowledge of requirements-based testing
• Experience using test case management systems (TestRail experience strongly preferred)
• Understanding of RDBMSs and SQL
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills
• Experience with test automation tools or frameworks (e.g. Cypress) preferred
• Confident, practical use of AI tools to support testing activities, such as test case generation, exploratory testing assistance, or defect triage preferred

Requirements

• Design, author, and execute manual test cases covering functional, integration, and end-to-end testing of web applications
• Create, manage, and maintain test cases, test plans, and test runs within TestRail
• Work closely with developers and the automation team to cover the testing needs of new features and enhancements
• Provide input into, and support, the team's ongoing test automation initiatives, including helping identify good candidates for automation
• Aid in troubleshooting problems that arise in product lines across various environments
• Assist in identifying escapes and participate in post-mortem root-cause analyses when problems are identified in production systems
• Log, track, and clearly document defects, working with development teams through to resolution
