Role Description

This position is available for fully remote work with occasional travel as required for business needs. Must have experience in the commercial nuclear industry with ASME NQA-1 / 10 CFR 50 Appendix B / 10 CFR 21.

The QA Project Engineer is responsible for supporting company/client projects by representing quality assurance in the planning, coordination, and execution of assigned project activities. The Project Engineer serves as a central point of contact between the QA team and other internal and external stakeholders for project-related cross-functional quality and process-related issues.

• Understand and communicate project quality requirements
• Ensure quality requirements are reflected in internal documentation
• Work with quality and other personnel to ensure project quality requirements are flowed to suppliers
• Interact with project team and management from multiple companies
• Provide input and support on a wide spectrum of quality and process-related solutions
• Support and coordinate quality responses to customer Requests for Information
• Develop quality requirements traceability matrix
• Manage first-of-a-kind issues and adapt to a shifting business development environment
• Proactively identify and resolve project issues
• Provide direction and coordinate project-related activities
• Develop and maintain processes and procedures for quality project activities
• Support project risk assessment and risk mitigation activities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a technical field from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality assurance with a broad range of responsibilities
• Familiarity with ASME NQA-1 / 10 CFR 50 Appendix B / 10 CFR 21
• Prior experience working as quality lead for large, complex projects
• Strong technical writing skills
• Good communication, computer, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex projects

Requirements

• Prior commercial nuclear experience
• Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Division 1
• Experience with ISO 9001 and other international quality standards and regulations (not required, but strongly preferred)
• Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810

Benefits

• Target pay range for this position is $127,104 - $153,401 annually
• Full pay range is $113,955 - $178,237 annually
• Compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, full-time working experience, education and training, equity within the department
