[Hiring] Principal Quality Assurance Engineer @Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC

Role Description

As a Principal Project Quality Engineer , you will ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and Westinghouse quality assurance requirements in support of the Dukovany 5 & 6 Project. You will develop and maintain quality programs, processes, and oversight activities that support the delivery of nuclear-grade equipment and services. In this role, you will serve as a key customer quality interface, providing leadership in supplier quality oversight, audits, inspections, corrective actions, and compliance activities. You will work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Project teams to ensure quality requirements are implemented and maintained throughout project execution.

You will report to the Dukovany Project QA Manager and be assigned to our Windsor, Connecticut or Pittsburgh, PA, location . This role supports a 100% remote work arrangement . No relocations assistance is available for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality standards, programs, and systems in compliance with the Westinghouse Quality Management System, customer specifications, and applicable nuclear regulatory requirements.
• Lead supplier quality oversight activities, including audits, surveillance, inspections, and assessments of domestic and international suppliers.
• Review quality requirements, quality plans, inspection and test plans, manufacturing documentation, and quality assurance data packages to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
• Lead investigations of quality issues, verify corrective actions, support risk mitigation activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as the primary customer quality interface, coordinating audits, inspections, and quality-related activities while partnering with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Project teams to ensure compliant project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, Nuclear Quality, or a related quality assurance field.
• Experience conducting supplier audits, surveillance activities, and quality assessments with domestic and international suppliers.
• Experience working within a regulated industry, preferably nuclear, energy, aerospace, or other highly regulated environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, ISO 19443, ASME, IEEE, and IEC quality requirements and standards.
• Experience supporting mechanical and instrumentation & control (I&C) equipment quality activities.
• Familiarity with EU and/or Czech Republic regulatory requirements is considered an asset.

Requirements

• We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
