[Hiring] Middle QA Engineer @GlobalLogic

Role Description

The Broadband team works on 2nd generations of Harmonic (NASDAQ:HLIT) Cable Access products, actively developing the industry's first software-based CCAP solution ("Cable OS") and cloud native CMTS. These solutions allow cable operator companies to deliver IP-based data, video, and voice services to millions of customers. Focus is given to CableOS, which will eliminate existing hardware equipment and migrate to the cloud, saving customers significant expenses for the support of hardware network equipment.

The system is based on microservice architecture and runs on general-purpose CPUs. It doesn't require ASICs and allows software to run on bare metal servers as well as on private cloud infrastructure. CableOS is a pioneer in DOCSIS software-defined networking (SDN), providing numerous benefits to service providers.

The GlobalLogic team is involved in development, manual and automated testing, as well as solution integration at customers' headends and further technical support 24/7, providing professional services for customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software testing of complex systems (preferably embedded/network equipment)
• Understanding and knowledge of computer networks and L2/L3 networking protocols
• Basic hands-on experience with Linux command-line
• High level of interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with different groups
• Engineering curiosity
• Problem solver, not maker
• At least Intermediate level of English (writing and speaking)

Requirements

• Knowledge in DOCSIS / PON (Passive Optical Network)
• Data traffic generators (Ixia, iPerf) and analyzers (Wireshark)
• Script tools/languages (Python, Bash, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)

Job Responsibilities

• Testing End-to-End complex embedded system, which involves hardware and software components
• Administration of various server and network equipment, which is an environment for test execution
• Preparation and execution of extended test scenarios with focus on load/scale/performance/stress aspects
• Integration testing of features developed by different scrum teams
• Customer issues reproduction and investigation
• Work in agile mode and cooperate with multiple scrum teams as well as with customers
