[Hiring] Manual QA Lead @RELQ Technologies

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Manual QA Lead to oversee the quality assurance process, lead a team of manual testers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of QA methodologies, excellent communication abilities, and hands-on expertise in test planning, test execution, and defect management.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Manual QA Engineers.
  • Allocate tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure timely completion of testing activities.
  • Conduct regular team reviews to track progress and address challenges.
• Test Strategy & Planning
  • Create and maintain test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
  • Perform requirement analysis and identify test scenarios based on functional specifications.
  • Define testing scope, timelines, and priorities.
• Manual Testing
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
  • Perform exploratory testing to identify critical defects.
  • Validate all UI/UX flows to ensure smooth end-to-end functionality.
• Defect Management
  • Log detailed defects in tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, Bugzilla, etc.).
  • Work closely with development teams to reproduce, prioritise, and resolve issues.
  • Perform root-cause analysis to reduce recurring defects.
• Process Improvement
  • Establish QA best practices, testing standards, and documentation processes.
  • Drive continuous improvements across the QA team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Development, Product, and DevOps.
• Reporting & Communication
  • Prepare daily/weekly test reports for stakeholders.
  • Communicate risks, issues, and timelines with clarity.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in manual testing, with at least 2+ years in a lead role.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.
• Excellent hands-on experience in writing test cases, test scenarios, and test reports.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with tools like JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, Azure DevOps, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills

• Basic understanding of API testing (Postman).
• Knowledge of SQL queries for database validation.
• Familiarity with automation concepts (good to have, not mandatory).
• Experience in performance testing or security testing is a plus.
