Role Description

As an Functional Test Engineer at Gainwell, you will be supporting the full life cycle of testing. Your responsibilities include:

• Reviewing software requirements and preparing test scenarios.
• Executing tests on software usability.
• Analyzing test results on database impacts, errors or bugs, and usability.
• Preparing reports on all aspects related to the software testing carried out and reporting to the design teams.
• Focusing on a specific product or family of technologies in multiple platforms.
• Functioning independently within a business area and assisting at the enterprise level to influence technical decisions during various testing phases of the project.

Note: This role is strictly involved in application configuration and development activities and does not involve access to Protected Health Information (PHI), Personally Identifiable Information (PII), or any secured or confidential client data. The work is limited to ECM development, customization, integration, and support activities and does not include handling or processing of sensitive health or personal information.

Your role in our mission includes:

• Collaborating with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and design comprehensive test plans.
• Developing detailed test cases, test scripts, and test data based on functional specifications and user stories.
• Performing functional testing, including system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Executing test cases manually to identify defects and ensure software quality.
• Logging defects with detailed information and working with the development team to prioritize and resolve them.
• Retesting resolved defects to ensure fixes are effective and do not introduce new issues.
• Documenting test results, preparing test summary reports, and communicating findings to project stakeholders.
• Maintaining accurate records of test cases, test scripts, and test data.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
• Adhering to QA processes and enforcing quality best practices.
• Assisting in outlining new product/service business case justification to ensure that the proposed solution can deliver articulated business benefits to the client.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Manual/Functional/System testing.
• US Healthcare knowledge, especially Provider and Claims.
• Must have functional testing experience in US Healthcare Claims processing.
• Functional testing experience in Prior Authorization workflows.
• SQL queries/stored procedures.
• Good analytical, reasoning, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
