Role Description

The Director, Enterprise Quality Engineering carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements. This role is accountable for ensuring critical business processes operate reliably across segments, platforms, applications, APIs, data flows, environments, and release events.

This is a technical leadership role with a hands-on expectation. The Director will be expected to:

• Understand modern engineering practices deeply.
• Engage directly in validation strategy and technical problem-solving.
• Review quality approaches and assess automation and monitoring patterns.
• Guide teams through complex integration, reliability, and production quality challenges.

The leader will leverage AI-enabled quality engineering practices to:

• Improve validation intelligence.
• Accelerate test design.
• Strengthen defect and risk prediction.
• Enhance synthetic monitoring.
• Increase the effectiveness of enterprise release certification.

This role will partner closely with various teams to improve release confidence, production reliability, and enterprise quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in quality engineering, software engineering, test engineering, systems integration, technology delivery, or related technical disciplines.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams or enterprise-scale quality engineering capabilities.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end testing, integration testing, release validation, or enterprise quality certification in complex environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of test strategy, automation, integration validation, production validation, defect analysis, risk assessment, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, release management, and production readiness.
• Experience validating complex workflows across applications, platforms, APIs, data flows, and distributed systems.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, and influencing skills in a matrixed environment.

Requirements

• Experience leveraging data, analytics, automation, or AI-enabled practices to improve quality insights, test effectiveness, risk detection, and release readiness.
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with enterprise transformation, platform modernization, cloud migration, or digital product delivery initiatives.
• Familiarity with modern architectures, including microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, cloud-native platforms, data pipelines, and distributed systems.
• Experience with test automation, service virtualization, test data management, environment management, observability, synthetic monitoring, production validation, or operational readiness.
• Familiarity with enterprise release governance, change management, compliance, secure software delivery, and operational risk controls.

Work-At-Home Requirements

• Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$156,600 - $215,400 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based upon company and/or individual performance.
