[Hiring] Automation QA Engineer @Softeq

Role Description

We're looking for an Automation QA Engineer to join our team and contribute to its continued growth. We are building a new customer portal for a large logistics company. Business users at the company's customers will use it to:

• Track shipments
• See delays and ETAs
• Manage invoices and documents
• Get alerts and reports
• Ask an AI assistant about their own data

The portal runs on Azure with the following technologies:

• React/TypeScript front end (installable PWA)
• Python/FastAPI services
• Azure Databricks lakehouse

You will build an automation-first test system for the application and its data, and own quality evidence for each release.

What you will do:

• Define the test strategy and test plan for each release together with the team and the client.
• Build and maintain UI end-to-end automation with Playwright, and API and contract tests with pytest against an OpenAPI 3.1 contract.
• Write cross-tenant negative tests to prove that a user of one customer company can never see or change another company's data.
• Test role-based access and entitlements for various user types.
• Run performance and load tests against agreed targets.
• Run security tests in the pipeline and support remediation and retest after penetration tests.
• Test accessibility with automated checks and manual review; test the PWA across the agreed browser and device matrix.
• Test data by reconciling application data against source systems and preparing evidence packs for data sign-off.
• Help test AI features with evaluation sets for the assistant.
• Integrate all tests into CI/CD, keep them fast and stable, and report quality at release gates.
• Manage defects and provide clear, reproducible bug reports.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of test automation for web applications and APIs.
• Strong experience with Playwright (or Cypress/Selenium).
• API testing experience with pytest or similar.
• Experience testing role-based access and multi-tenant isolation.
• Good SQL skills for writing reconciliation queries.
• CI integration of tests with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Clear written and spoken English.

Requirements

• Strong Playwright skills: page objects, test data management, parallel runs.
• Experience with authentication flows and contract testing.
• Ability to explain defects and their business impact.
