Role Description

WSP is seeking a Transmission Project Manager for our Power & Energy Program Management Team in St. Louis, MO. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical, schedules, quality, and financial aspects of Power and Energy Transmission Line and Substation projects, managing and developing client relationships. This position may be offered remotely from a mutually acceptable WSP office. You must have the ability to travel to a WSP and/or Client office for periodic face-to-face meetings.

• Provides project management leadership for the development, execution, management, control, and monitoring of Power Delivery projects.
• Ensures responsibilities across the full project lifecycle are delivered, governed, and audited in alignment with corporate standards and client expectations.
• Accountable for technical execution, schedules (CPM), financial performance, quality, safety, and client satisfaction on projects of moderate size, complexity, and regional scope.
• Applies established project management practices to deliver consistent project outcomes while supporting company, regional, and business line objectives.

Your Impact

• Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of multiple concurrent transmission line and substation projects.
• Provide senior-level project management oversight for scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, risk, procurement, construction readiness, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
• Serve as the primary point of accountability for project delivery, proactively identifying issues, driving decisions, escalating risks, and ensuring alignment with client expectations.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated project schedules, cost forecasts, performance metrics, and executive-level reporting.
• Manage project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, earned value analysis, change management, invoice review, cost control, and margin protection.
• Lead client engagement and relationship development through proactive communication and issue resolution.
• Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, project controls, procurement, construction, environmental, permitting, vendors, contractors, and client stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain project governance practices, including risk registers, decision logs, action tracking, change control, and quality reviews.
• Guide technical review requirements, resource planning, staffing assignments, and QA/QC expectations.
• Mentor project managers, assistant project managers, and project team members.
• Exercise sound judgment and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, client commitments, and project conduct.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business and client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field within the Power & Energy market.
• 10+ years of relevant post-education experience, including significant project management responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience managing medium to large, complex transmission line and/or substation projects.
• Proven ability to lead multiple concurrent projects or a portfolio of related projects.
• Advanced understanding of utility project delivery.
• Strong working knowledge of project controls practices.
• Experience developing and maintaining project governance tools and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships at a senior project level.
• Experience leading, coordinating, and influencing multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to provide direction, coaching, and mentorship to project managers and team members.
• Advanced analytical, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to manage project financials.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Proven commitment to workplace safety, quality, ethics, and compliance.
• Ability to travel periodically to WSP offices, client offices, project sites, or other locations.

Compensation

• Expected Salary (all locations): $119,600 - $213,200.
• Expected Salary (Colorado only): $111,200 - $186,100.
