Role Description
Thalamus is hiring a Technical Program Manager to support our engineering organization. As the first member of our PMO, you’ll be designing and building the framework to streamline processes, documentation, collaboration, and communications across Thalamus’s Engineering, Product, Customer Experience, and Operations organizations.
Your efforts will allow us to continue delivering a seamless, world-class product and experience that empowers med students, residents, fellows, and physicians to be in the driver's seat for their careers, and that allows programs and hospitals to optimally match candidates to their needs.
- Design standardized, scalable, repeatable, and predictable framework, tools, and processes for initiation, tracking, governance, review (feedback, escalation, iteration), and delivery of programs and projects, balancing the historical precedence of our engineering org with industry best practices
- Partner with key stakeholders, including our engineering, product, customer experience, and operations teams, to understand their respective expectations and work-styles, and build communications strategies to ensure all stakeholders are updated on project progress and deliverables
- Prepare detailed program / project plans for quarterly release management – from ideation, to business justification, to risk identification and mitigation, to execution
- Partner with leadership to define key metrics for process, product, and customer, and create a detailed tracking dashboard to communicate this data in real-time, asynchronously
Qualifications
- At least 8-10 years of technical program management experience in a product-driven company
- Ability to work on Eastern or Central Time zones (or can begin work at 7am Pacific)
- Prior success in cross-functional program management within a multi-product engineering org
- Technical depth, with the ability to translate technical terms into business terms for non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a good balance of business sensibility and empathy for the demands of tactical execution
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate business cases, succinctly explain data to stakeholders, and calmly direct debate and smooth conflict during periods of high stress
Requirements
- Health tech or GME industry experience (Bonus)
- BA in a business, economics, or technical field (Bonus)
Benefits
- The salary range for this position is $185,000 - $200,000 and a grant of stock options. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and geographic location.
