Role Description

We are sharing a full-time opportunity for an experienced legal professional with strong project leadership, legal-domain expertise, stakeholder management, data operations, and human-data workflow experience to lead complex initiatives supporting advanced AI organisations and legal-focused data projects. The role combines legal expertise with end-to-end project execution. The successful candidate will translate ambiguous customer requirements into clear project specifications, design and improve legal-domain data workflows, coordinate Operations and Legal subject-matter experts, manage delivery milestones, and maintain direct communication with senior stakeholders. A JD or equivalent law degree is required.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Project Ownership
  • Own complex projects from initial framing and scoping through execution and final delivery
  • Translate strategic objectives into structured project plans
  • Define clear workstreams, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables
  • Maintain accountability for quality, timing, and execution
  • Resolve blockers quickly and maintain delivery momentum
• Legal Workflow Design
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable specifications for legal workflows
  • Design project structures suited to legal research, contract analysis, litigation, regulatory, and compliance-related tasks
  • Incorporate domain expertise into project requirements and evaluation criteria
  • Define quality standards appropriate to legal deliverables
  • Continuously improve workflows for accuracy, usability, and scalability
• Data Pipeline & Operations Development
  • Design and refine domain-specific data pipelines
  • Coordinate human-data operations supporting legal projects
  • Improve workflow efficiency and operational scalability
  • Establish structured quality-review processes
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement practical operational improvements
• Legal Domain Coordination
  • Work closely with attorneys and senior Legal subject-matter experts
  • Align domain contributors with project objectives
  • Ensure appropriate legal expertise is incorporated into specifications and quality standards
  • Review project deliverables for domain relevance and professional quality
  • Facilitate collaboration between Operations and Legal teams
• Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Own client communication throughout project delivery
  • Translate complex or ambiguous requests into clear operational plans
  • Maintain concise, direct, and consistent communication
  • Set expectations regarding scope, quality, timing, and delivery
  • Communicate risks, progress, decisions, and next steps clearly
• Team Leadership
  • Manage Legal domain experts and project leads
  • Establish responsibilities and execution expectations
  • Maintain a high-accountability and high-quality delivery environment
  • Provide clear feedback and direction
  • Support rapid deployment of expert teams for new project requirements
• Delivery Management
  • Set project milestones and maintain a tight execution cadence
  • Track progress against delivery commitments
  • Identify and resolve blockers
  • Maintain visibility into delivery risks and priorities
  • Drive consistent follow-through across contributors and stakeholders
• Internal Reporting & Communication
  • Provide regular internal updates on project status
  • Communicate progress, blockers, risks, and explicit next steps
  • Maintain documentation required for operational continuity
  • Ensure responsibilities and decisions are clearly recorded
  • Support alignment across legal, operational, and project teams
• AI & Human-Data Operations
  • Support projects involving AI training, evaluation, or human-generated data
  • Coordinate expert-driven legal data workflows
  • Apply quality-control principles to human-in-the-loop processes
  • Translate customer objectives into scalable operational systems
  • Improve workflows supporting complex AI and data initiatives

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent law degree required
• 2+ years of professional experience in legal practice, legal research, regulatory/compliance, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience leading complex projects, operational workflows, or legal-related initiatives
• Strong legal-domain knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from ambiguity through delivery
• Strong project-management and execution skills
• Experience coordinating cross-functional or expert teams
• Exceptional stakeholder-management capability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with attorneys and senior Legal professionals
• Strong attention to detail and operational discipline
• Comfortable making decisions and progressing work in ambiguous environments
• Strong ownership and urgency
• Ability to translate customer requirements into clear project specifications
• Familiarity with legal research is advantageous
• Experience with contract analysis is valuable
• Litigation or regulatory/compliance experience is beneficial
• Experience managing legal, technical, or data-intensive projects is advantageous
• Experience with AI/ML organisations, AI labs, data annotation, or evaluation projects is beneficial
• Familiarity with data pipelines, AI-training workflows, and human-in-the-loop operations is valuable
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and execution-focused environment

Engagement Details

• Full-time engagement
• Fully remote
• Compensation: $400,000–$550,000/year
• Work will involve strategic project leadership, legal workflows, stakeholder management, data operations, human-data pipelines, project delivery, and cross-functional coordination
• A JD or equivalent law degree is required
• Strong legal-domain expertise combined with operational execution is central to this role
• Responsibilities may span legal research, contract analysis, litigation workflows, regulatory/compliance work, AI-training operations, expert evaluation, and related project environments
• The role requires regular communication with customers, Legal domain experts, Operations teams, and project leads
• Project scope, priorities, customer requirements, and workflows may evolve based on business needs
• Work must be completed without using confidential, privileged, proprietary, client-identifiable, sealed, regulated, or otherwise restricted information belonging to any client, law firm, court matter, employer, government entity, financial institution, or other third party
