Role Description

The Senior Process Improvement Professional analyzes, and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements. The Senior Process Improvement Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

  • Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.
  • Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost.
  • Determines how new information technologies can support re-engineering business processes.
  • May specialize in one or more of the following areas: benchmarking, business process analysis and re-engineering, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements.
  • Begins to influence department’s strategy.
  • Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
  • Manages all aspects of a project, from scoping through execution, so that it is completed on time and within budget.
  • Assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Works in an environment with ever changing legal, regulatory, and industry requirements and must be adaptable.
  • Defines the scope of a project, facilitates/document scope, conducts root cause analysis, data collection/analysis, project planning, resource planning, and status reporting.
  • Responsible for managing all phases of the project cycle including initiation, planning, execution, control, and closing.
  • Applies process improvement/project management methods to reduce variation in processes and improve results.
  • Assesses business and operational needs for opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, effectiveness and accuracy.
  • Project Standards: Charter, RACI Model/Roles and Responsibilities, Governance Structure, Project Plan, Risk/Issues Tracking.
  • Determines how new information technologies can support re-engineering business processes to promote automation.
  • Reviews expectations/deliverables prepared by senior leadership/business owner.
  • Understands financial ROI.
  • Coordinates deliverables with business owner and maintains project plan.
  • Provides strong organization and effective communication skills with project stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of comprehensive, end-to-end process management experience and/or a minimum of 5 years in project management roles.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience translating requirements across business and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing medium to large-scale projects, preferably within a payor and/or healthcare environment.
  • Proven experience utilizing Agile methodologies, including project management within Agile frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency in communicating effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain all project artifacts.
  • Proven capability to manage stakeholders and hold them accountable for deliverables.
  • Skilled in facilitating meetings with participants at various levels.
  • Regular and proficient use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and Visio.

Requirements

  • Experience in communication and change management.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$78,400 - $107,800 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
