[Hiring] Senior Manager or Director Project Development @Origis Energy

Role Description

Origis Energy is looking for an experienced Senior Manager or Director Project Development to join our growing, experienced project development team with the main objective of driving additional pipeline growth and project successes in both utility scale solar and energy storage.

• A minimum of 7 years’ renewable energy project development experience is required for the Senior Project Development Manager role.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience is required for the Director position.
• A deep knowledge of the CAISO and WECC market is a must.
• Knowledge of three or more of the following is required:
  • Solar siting and land acquisition documentation
  • Federal, State & Local solar project permitting
  • Interconnection study process experience
  • Clean energy financial modeling experience
  • A technical understanding of solar + storage projects
  • RFP assembly and response support
  • PPA negotiations support
  • Project finance negotiations support
  • Wholesale market/RTO market operations knowledge

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other internal teams to develop and execute on annual goals for execution of existing projects, developing existing projects and siting new projects.
• Manage all aspects of solar and storage project development.
• Manage the project permitting process throughout the development cycle for solar and storage projects.
• Evaluate transmission grids and land constraints to make comprehensive presentations to management on ideal locations for new projects.
• Interface directly with landowners, internal Origis Land Team, and land consultants to secure selected sites.
• Support early-stage interconnection team with applications, following interconnection process management.
• Form comprehensive project teams using Origis Tier 1 consultants to conduct early-stage risk analysis.
• Assist in PPA negotiations and manage customer relations during development.
• Organize and share development documentation with Origis Investment, Finance and Construction teams to assure project success and profitability.
• Manage vendors and project budgets through SAP system.

Qualifications

• BS and/or BA, MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of increasingly progressive development/origination/solar finance experience for the Senior Project Development Manager position.
• 10+ years of increasingly progressive development/origination/solar finance experience for the Director Project Development position.
• Strong knowledge of solar development tools such as: PV Syst outputs, constrained project layouts, interconnection study results, permit studies, and financial models.
• Broad knowledge of the full spectrum of solar development process and willingness to learn.
• Familiarity and comfort with landowner negotiations.
• Experience assembling project development teams and managing consultants.
• Experience in public presentations and guiding 3rd party development relations.
• Preparation of project critical path analyses and recommendations.
• Experience with reviewing and providing inputs for financial models.
• Experience and deep understanding of the U.S. utility scale solar and energy storage markets.
• Experience with interconnection from application through LGIA finalization.
• Exceptional communication skills.
