Role Description

Koniag Professional Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior Agile Scrum Master to support KPS and our government customer. The position is remote and requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

The Senior Agile ScrumMaster will lead Agile delivery across complex technology initiatives and will be comfortable working closely with engineering, product, business, QA, and program leadership teams to drive delivery, remove impediments, facilitate Agile ceremonies, coordinate testing activities, and ensure projects remain aligned with organizational objectives.

• Partner with business stakeholders, Product Owners, technical teams, and program leadership to understand business objectives, processes, and technology needs.
• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate functional and technical requirements.
• Create and maintain epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, business requirements, process flows, and supporting documentation.
• Write clear, detailed, and testable user stories that can be readily understood and implemented by development and QA teams.
• Serve as ScrumMaster for one or more Agile development teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Partner with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Business Analysts, QA, and other stakeholders to establish priorities and maintain healthy product backlogs.
• Drive sprint execution, track commitments, identify risks and dependencies, and proactively remove impediments impacting delivery.
• Leverage JIRA to manage epics, user stories, tasks, defects, sprint boards, workflows, dashboards, and Agile metrics.
• Provide hands-on support for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, coordination, defect tracking, business-user communication, and readiness/status reporting.
• Work closely with technical teams to understand system architecture, integrations, APIs, applications, data flows, environments, and technical dependencies.
• Translate technical and business requirements into actionable Agile work items and facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support program and project management activities, including status reporting, RAID tracking, dependency management, milestone tracking, resource coordination, and executive-level reporting.
• Identify cross-team dependencies and coordinate delivery activities across multiple workstreams.
• Monitor Agile metrics such as velocity, throughput, cycle time, sprint health, backlog health, and defect trends.
• Facilitate issue resolution and escalate risks and blockers when appropriate.
• Promote Agile best practices, continuous improvement, transparency, accountability, and team collaboration.
• Support release planning, production readiness, deployment coordination, and post-release activities.
• Maintain accurate project and delivery documentation and ensure stakeholders have clear visibility into progress, risks, and upcoming milestones.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Agile/Scrum environments, with significant experience as a ScrumMaster.
• Strong understanding of Scrum, Agile, Kanban, SDLC, and software delivery methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience supporting technical software development teams.
• Strong hands-on experience with JIRA and Confluence, including dashboards, workflows, reporting, and Agile boards.
• Experience coordinating and supporting UAT, including test planning, execution, defect management, and business stakeholder coordination.
• Strong understanding of technical concepts including applications, databases, APIs, system integrations, environments, and software development lifecycles.
• Experience supporting program/project management activities across multiple workstreams.
• Strong experience managing dependencies, risks, issues, action items, and delivery milestones.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, organization, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, or other project/program management certification.
• Experience working on large-scale enterprise technology programs.
• Experience with Agile transformation or process improvement initiatives.
• Experience with tools such as Confluence, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar technology platforms.
• Experience creating executive-level status reports, dashboards, and delivery metrics.
• Experience working in highly regulated or complex enterprise environments.
