Role Description
The Protection & Controls Substation Project Manager will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical substations for utility and industrial clients. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project completion.
- Lead and manage the design, development, and implementation of protection and control systems for high voltage substations (15-500 kV).
- Oversee all aspects of the substation project lifecycle, including planning, design, testing, and commissioning.
- Conduct critical calculations such as relay burden, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations to ensure optimal system performance.
- Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and clients, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure all designs and implementations comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to protection and control systems.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in protection and control systems for high voltage substations (15-500 kV).
- Proven experience managing the substation project lifecycle, including planning, design, testing, and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge and experience in performing critical calculations such as relay burden, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and manage budgets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Proficiency in the use of industry-standard software and tools.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
