[Hiring] Project Manager, Research Operations @Forbes

2d ago - Forbes is hiring a remote Project Manager, Research Operations. πŸ’Έ Salary: usd 80,000 - 90,000 per year πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

Forbes Intelligence is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee the operational execution of Forbes Accolades list production from kickoff through publication in partnership with the editorial Project Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring projects stay on schedule, stakeholders remain aligned, and deliverables are completed on time and within scope. The Project Manager will develop and maintain detailed timelines, define swim lanes across cross-functional teams, track dependencies, and proactively identify and resolve risks.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings structure, accountability, and clarity to complex, multi-phase initiatives. This is not a traditional content production project management role. The Project Manager will oversee structured, data-driven list production workflows β€” coordinating data ingestion, validation, scoring, and cross-functional review cycles that power Forbes Accolades rankings.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution
    • Develop comprehensive project plans and Gantt charts for all Forbes Intelligence programs.
    • Clearly define roles, responsibilities, and swim lanes across Research, Editorial, Sales, Design, Marketing, and external partners.
    • Establish timelines, milestones, and deliverable schedules.
    • Monitor progress and proactively identify risks or bottlenecks.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
    • Partner with Editorial project management counterparts to ensure clear alignment between list production workflows and editorial content development.
  • Workflow and Operational Management
    • Manage the full lifecycle of research-driven marketing programs, partnering with editorial and coordinating across sales and marketing.
    • Oversee structured list-generation workflows including data ingestion, validation, cleansing, scoring, QA review cycles, and finalization.
    • Coordinate the execution of list development and audience targeting workflows to ensure survey timelines are met.
    • Track dependencies across teams and escalate issues as needed.
    • Maintain detailed documentation of data sources, methodology, audit trails, and version control throughout each list cycle.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Serve as the primary operational liaison across internal teams.
    • Lead regular status meetings and distribute clear action-item summaries.
    • Align internal stakeholders prior to key milestones and deliverables.
    • Support process improvements and standardization efforts to enhance team efficiency.
  • Stakeholder and Client Support
    • Prepare timeline documentation and progress updates for internal and client-facing use.
    • Support kickoff meetings and milestone reviews.
    • Ensure deliverables meet agreed-upon scope and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably within media, publishing, research, consulting, or marketing environments.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with overlapping deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency in project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Monday.com).
  • Experience creating and maintaining Gantt charts and workflow documentation.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactively identify risks and blockers, working with stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Experience working with research teams, survey platforms, or data-driven content programs.
  • Familiarity with media production workflows and content development.
  • PMP certification or formal project management training.

Requirements

  • The annual base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000.
  • Forbes has estimated the compensation range set forth above in good faith.
  • This position is only open to candidates residing in California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, & Washington.

Benefits

  • Flexible work arrangements.
  • Opportunities for professional development.
