[Hiring] Project Manager - Power Delivery @WSP

Role Description

WSP is seeking a Project Manager for our Power Delivery Project Management team in our East Coast region. This position will be based out of Baltimore, MD or Washington DC with the ability to work remotely from any mutually acceptable location. You must have the ability to travel to a WSP and/or Client office for periodic face-to-face meetings, if required.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and technical leadership in the development and execution of project controls systems across major infrastructure programs and portfolios. Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing cost, schedule, and performance management processes.
• Ensuring accurate forecasting, compliance, and reporting.
• Partnering with business leaders, clients, and project executives.
• Implementing high-quality controls practices.
• Advancing innovation in controls methodology, tools, and analytics.

This Opportunity involves:

• Providing project management for high voltage and EHV Substation, Transmission, and Distribution projects.
• Ensuring responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle are adhered to and delivered with quality.
• Providing innovation and pragmatic direction to address project management challenges.

Your Impact includes:

• Leading the project planning process including initiation, design, engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out for multiple concurrent projects.
• Managing project implementation including project schedule, budget, and resources.
• Leading client discussions and developing/growing client relationships.
• Serving as the primary project authority on major project-related issues.
• Responsible for metrics tracking and compliance during all project phases.
• Developing and maintaining good working relationships with WSP/POWER staff and clients.
• Overseeing cross-functional teams to execute project work.
• Establishing the level of technical review required for the project.
• Exercising responsible decision-making regarding company funds and resources.
• Performing additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field within the Power & Energy Market.
• 10+ years of relevant post-education experience, preferably in a project management role within the Power Delivery/Utility Industry.
• Minimum of 3 years applicable industry experience working for IOUs, IPPs, Co-Ops, Munis, etc.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience leading engineering and/or construction teams on medium to large electrical utility scale clients.
• Familiarity with financial analysis tools in a utility setting.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adhering to WSP’s health and safety policies.
• Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools required.
