Role Description

The Project Manager, Member Virtual Hub is responsible for leading the planning, development, pilot, launch, and early adoption of Campus Compact’s Virtual Member Hub. This new digital platform is designed to strengthen shared identity, collaboration, and innovation across the coalition.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Membership, this role provides end-to-end project management for a complex, cross-functional platform initiative during a critical build-and-launch period. The Project Manager owns project planning and execution; vendor selection and management; stakeholder engagement; budget oversight; evaluation and reporting; and coordination with related platform efforts.

This is a remote, full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible, 18-month fixed-term role aligned with Year 1 and Year 2 grant milestones.

The position is explicitly focused on delivering a successful pilot, supporting full launch and early adoption, generating evidence-based recommendations for refinement and integration, and establishing a clear transition plan for post-term ownership and contracted Phase 2 support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Virtual Hub Project Planning & Management:
    • Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of the Virtual Member Hub initiative from discovery through early adoption.
    • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, documentation, and reporting structures using existing project management tools (Asana) when able.
    • Ensure alignment with organizational strategy, Membership priorities, and funder commitments.
    • Establish project governance, decision-making protocols, and escalation pathways.
  • Vendor, Consultant, & Advisor Management:
    • Lead the process for identifying, selecting, and onboarding a platform development partner, including development and management of an RFP.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for the platform developer and any related consultants or advisors.
    • Manage scope, timelines, deliverables, and risks using the developer’s project management framework (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
    • Facilitate regular check-ins, sprint reviews, and retrospectives as appropriate.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships:
    • Engage campus leaders, volunteer leaders, advisors, and internal stakeholders to gather input and share project updates.
    • Recruit, orient, and support a time-bound Member Hub Advisory Group.
    • Design feedback loops that inform decision-making while maintaining project momentum and clarity.
  • Cross-Platform Coordination & Organizational Alignment:
    • Coordinate closely with internal teams stewarding related platforms and systems.
    • Identify alignment opportunities, duplication risks, and integration considerations.
    • Surface risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to senior leadership in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Meeting, Convening, & Event Management:
    • Coordinate virtual and/or in-person meetings or convenings that advance project goals.
    • Support agenda development, scheduling, communications, registration, and technical logistics as needed.
    • Leverage existing convenings for listening, validation, and onboarding activities.
  • Research, Analysis & Environmental Scanning:
    • Conduct targeted research on comparable digital hubs, communities of practice, and membership platforms.
    • Identify emerging trends, promising practices, and common challenges to inform platform design and adoption strategy.
    • Translate research and data into practical recommendations.
  • Evaluation, Learning & Reporting:
    • Partner with staff to design and implement evaluation frameworks across pilot and post-launch phases.
    • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data related to usability, participation, and early outcomes.
    • Prepare interim and final reports for internal leadership.
    • Use evaluation findings to support continuous improvement and decision-making.
  • Budget Management:
    • Manage project budgets in collaboration with the Senior Director, Membership, and the finance team.
    • Monitor expenditures, ensure compliance with funder requirements, and support accurate financial reporting.
    • Align resources with milestones and project priorities.
  • Full Launch, Early Adoption & Transition Planning:
    • Support the full launch of the Virtual Member Hub to all members.
    • Lead onboarding and early adoption support for volunteer leaders and member users.
    • Monitor adoption patterns and develop early adoption reports and recommendations.
    • Produce a clear transition plan outlining recommended system updates and refinements.
  • Organizational Engagement:
    • Participate actively in Membership team activities, cross-functional planning, staff meetings, and major organizational events.
    • Represent Campus Compact with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in external-facing contexts.
    • Complete other related duties as required.
