Role Description

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager for our Power Constructors, Inc. (PCI) sector. Be involved in projects with our P&E team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges. This position will have the ability to work remotely from anywhere in the United States. WSP will not provide sponsorship for this position.

This Opportunity provides technical project supervision, and guidance with managing the administrative, commercial, and technical components of assigned project(s) in accordance with WSP’s core values and the level of project services agreed upon in the contract by WSP and the client(s). Tasks include:

• Responsibility for the overall performance of the assigned project(s) that are of moderate size/complexity and/or local/regional in scope.
• Oversight for financial, technical, client satisfaction, quality, safety, and schedule.
• Ensuring that responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle (proposal phase, project startup and planning, project execution, reporting, and project closeout) are adhered to, delivered, and audited.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm.
• Willing to obtain project management certification required (e.g., PMP, CAP-M).
• 7 to 10 years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within our industry.
• Sound understanding of project delivery process within the A/E/C industry.
• Well-developed analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge the business and project management.
• Competent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail.
• Works independently with minimal oversight.
• Competent with technical writing and relevant software, including MS Office suite products.
• Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating resources.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety.
• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Requirements

• Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams of technical professionals.
• Play a contributing role in the development of project proposals, cost estimates, scope, schedules, and resource plans.
• Develop the work breakdown structure (WBS) tasks and estimated costs.
• Establish the level of technical review required for the project.
• Contribute to performing margin analyses, establishing margin goals and risk contingencies.
• Coordinate and assist with the technical aspects of contract negotiation.
• Develop and update the Project Initiation/Setup Documentation.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings with key stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with Project Accounting to monitor and track project metrics.
• Oversee management of budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost and change management.
• Coordinate with area/technical managers to address project resource and subcontracting requirements.
• Immediately communicate and escalate any project site Health & Safety or significant client issues.
• Participate in problem project reviews.
• Provide regular project reporting and updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Monitor accounts receivable (AR) and unbilled revenue.
• Work with the Procurement Department to closeout procurements.
• Complete formal project closeout activities.
• Remain current in the latest Project Management techniques and practices (PMAP).
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
