Role Description
In this role you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering projects, including the development and deployment of a large-scale IoT platform.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams
- Ensure projects meet quality standards, timelines, and budget requirements
- Manage both software and hardware engineering projects
- Work closely with the Lead Architect – IoT Edge & Cloud, the Lead Cybersecurity, DevOps, and UX Manager, and other technical leaders
What will your typical day look like?
- Define scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines
- Manage resources, budget, and risks
- Ensure projects are on time and within budget
- Work with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders
- Act as the main contact between teams and business functions
- Establish performance metrics to monitor project progress
- Provide regular status updates, reports, and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Collaborate with technical leads to ensure that engineering resources are aligned with project goals
- Identify and mitigate risks
- Develop contingency plans and handle scope changes
- Oversee third-party vendors and ensure they meet requirements
- Assist with contract negotiations
- Mentor team members and collaborate with HR for hiring
- Promote professional development
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Facilitate meetings and ensure clear communication
Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, Project Engineering Manager, or related position
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field is desirable
- Certification in Project Management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, PMP) is desirable
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in complex, high-tech environments, ideally within IoT, cloud infrastructure, or industrial automation sectors
- Experience in project management, managing large-scale technical or engineering projects
- Exposure to Agile methodology and working with Agile development teams
Requirements
- Legal authorization to work in the UK is required
