Role Description

Under supervision of Sr Project Engineers or Engineering Management staff, the Project Engineer I provides engineering management of 3rd party EPC design deliverables and actively manages internal PVsyst models in alignment with project designs. Responsibilities include:

• Providing construction support and commissioning documentation review/approval support.
• Ensuring contractor engineering deliverables remain on-schedule.
• Managing and directing internal engineering department deliverables as well as any outsourced engineering.
• Participating in contract document creation and EPC bid reviews.
• Supporting Project Finance team via coordination with Independent Engineers.

Main Responsibilities:

• Review internally-produced designs of solar energy projects against project constraints and contractual commitments, and report findings to Sr Engineering or Engineering Management staff.
• Coordinate or run PVsyst to confirm design production against contractual commitments, and report findings to Sr Engineering or Engineering Management staff.
• Support contracting team in assembling contract documents and reviewing 3rd party EPC bids under supervision.
• Coordinate and conduct design reviews via Bluebeam Revu Sessions for solar power plants and substations, including drawings, calculations, and reports under supervision.
• Manage project Engineering-specific data via company software platforms.
• Gather and review applicable codes, standards, and vendor and client requirements and communicate requirements to project team.
• Participate in constructability reviews.
• Conduct site visits as needed to support site evaluation, construction, commissioning, and Project Finance.
• Support Project Execution and Operations teams during commissioning process and project close out.
• Encourage and engage in continuous learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline from an ABET Accredited institution (i.e. BSEE, BSME, BSCE).
• EIT License preferred.
• Desire 1+ years project engineering experience in the designing, building, or commissioning in EPC or utility electricity generation field.
• Prior experience in the solar industry desirable.
• Familiarity with reviewing 30/60/90/IFC design drawings; reviewing/responding to RFI’s and material submittals; and with codes, standards, and regulations pertaining to photovoltaic power plants are all a plus.

Requirements

• Highly proficient in MS Office suite.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, PVsyst, AutoCAD a plus.
• Ability to perform work and coordinate multiple projects at once.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and willingness to learn quickly.
