Role Description

The Project Controls Analyst provides project controls support throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout. This role supports complex capital projects for federal agencies, the Department of Energy (DOE), the Department of Defense (DoD), national laboratories, and other public and private sector clients.

Working independently on moderately complex assignments, the Project Controls Analyst:

• Develops and maintains integrated cost and schedule controls.
• Supports budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Performs project performance analyses.
• Prepares reports that support informed decision-making.
• Collaborates with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, and client stakeholders to monitor project performance.
• Identifies risks and trends, supports change management activities, and recommends corrective actions.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of project controls principles, cost engineering, scheduling, forecasting, and project controls systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, scheduling, cost management, or related project controls functions supporting engineering and construction projects.
• Bachelor’s degree required in civil engineering, engineering, construction management, mathematics, data analytics, or a related technical or quantitative field.
• A Master’s degree in a related technical or quantitative field may be considered as part of the candidate’s overall qualifications and relevant professional experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining integrated cost and schedule baselines using Oracle Primavera P6.
• Experience supporting project budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, schedule analysis, earned value management (EVM), and change management activities.
• Experience supporting DOE, DoD, federal, national laboratory, or other large-scale capital projects is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting engineering, infrastructure, energy, research, manufacturing, mission-critical, or other capital projects is preferred.
• Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6, project controls software, cost management systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, CCP, PSP, EVP, PE, or similar credentials are preferred.

Requirements

• Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
• Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
