Role Description

Verdantas is seeking a Project Controls Specialist I. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who possess an aptitude for organization, strong communication skills, and an eye for detail and problem-solving. Attention to detail will be a valued trait for updating project schedules and preparing project reports. The Project Controls Specialist I should be proficient with Project Management software utilizing Gantt charts. The role is responsible for maintaining project schedules using status updates provided by the project team as well as those conveyed through document control systems. This position is remote.

As a Project Controls Specialist I, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, curiosity, and continuous growth. Monitoring client document control systems to route project inquiries, review status changes, and track upcoming deliverables is a key aspect of this position.

The Project Controls Specialist I will communicate frequently with project teams and Project Managers to monitor and report on design status, billing status, and other key performance indicators (KPIs). This role will demonstrate the ability to identify problems, understand their root cause, and take ownership for resolving the problem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1+ Year of Data Analysis Experience
• Strong Communication Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite – particularly Excel
• Past/Current experience as a project accountant, project controls or project management
• Experience in Microsoft Project, Vantagepoint, Power BI, Scheduling or similar programs

Requirements

• Update and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project, Excel Schedule, Vantagepoint Project Plan and/or Microsoft Teams
• Develop Project Schedules using established schedule templates
• Request and process project status updates from Project Managers, Area Project Delivery Leaders and/or Area Leaders. Status updates may be collected via redlined .pdf files, email messages, text messages, phone calls, team meetings, or one-on-one conversations
• Communicate project summaries and schedule variance reports with Project Managers
• Generate project and portfolio level reports to share with Project Managers and project team as needed
• Submitting, downloading, and/or updating forms, paperwork, etc. on external and internal document control systems
