Role Description

The Programme Management Intern will support FAST's critical activities by assisting in programme management, event coordination, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects addressing modern slavery and trafficking through innovative financing mechanisms.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Programme Management Support:
    • Support day-to-day programme coordination, planning, and implementation of activities in line with agreed workplans and timelines.
    • Assist in tracking deliverables, deadlines, action points, and follow-up with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support the preparation, review, and organization of programme documents, briefs, presentations, meeting notes, and reporting inputs.
    • Maintain updated programme records, contact lists, calendars, and filing systems to support effective coordination and knowledge management.
    • Assist with logistical, administrative, and operational arrangements related to programme activities, including procurement, travel, vendor coordination, and documentation, as needed.
    • Support the organization of in-person, virtual, and hybrid consultations, roundtables, bilateral meetings, and events.
    • Help monitor implementation progress, identify bottlenecks, and support timely follow-up to ensure smooth delivery of programme activities.
  • Research and Knowledge Management Support:
    • Conduct background research and desk reviews to support the development of knowledge products, briefs, presentations, reports, and other programme materials.
    • Assist in collecting, organizing, and synthesizing information from consultations, meetings, events, research papers, policy documents, and stakeholder inputs.
    • Support the documentation of key insights, recommendations, lessons learned, and stakeholder commitments emerging from consultations and programme activities.
    • Assist in drafting event debriefs, outcome reports, research summaries, presentations, talking points, and communication materials for internal and external audiences.
    • Support the development, organization, and maintenance of knowledge repositories, including research materials, tools, guidance notes, templates, and stakeholder resources.
    • Support knowledge-sharing across internal platforms, including the Intranet, Viva Engage, Teams, and SharePoint.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining Intranet pages, Teams channels, SharePoint folders, and resource kits, including slide decks, promotional materials, follow-up materials, and training resources.
    • Help ensure knowledge products and resources are clearly organized, accessible, up to date, and aligned with programme priorities.
    • Support communications planning and content development to promote knowledge products, research outputs, and programme activities through social media, email, events, websites, and internal platforms.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Support implementation of FAST workplan through document preparation and process management.
    • Maintain detailed records, and contribute to staff meetings and progress reports for FAST project activities.

Qualifications

  • Field of study required: international development, international relations, finance, economics, political affairs, sustainable finance, or any related field.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
    • Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a masterโ€™s programme, or higher);
    • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent);
    • Have recently graduated with a university degree and must start the internship within one year of graduation;
    • Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
  • Experience in data analysis, demonstrated through university coursework is desired.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in organizational management or project management, preferably within international organizations or similar settings is highly desired.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in programme management and knowledge management, preferably in sustainable finance or sustainable development through either academic coursework/research and/or professional experience is highly desired.
  • Experience with multilateral organizations or bilateral donor agencies is desired.
  • Knowledge of and/or familiarity in Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking through coursework and/or professional experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of products is required.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, R, etc.) is desired.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Knowledge of another UN language, especially French, is desirable.

  • Interns may be given a stipend according to UNDP Internship Policy to help cover basic daily expenses related to the internship, such as meals and transportation at the duty station.
