Role Description

Under limited supervision, the Senior Project Manager provides project leadership to include managing all project work and project communications assigned within the ePMO. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and controlling project management activities, changes, and reporting across small to large projects for existing and new implementations within the academic, research, and healthcare system portfolios. This role reports to the ePMO Program Director.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day assignments for cross-functional and assigned team members.
  • Ensure compliance in the use of project management forms and processes, along with ePMO standards.
  • Responsible for the analysis, initiation, planning, execution, and closeout of projects and ePMO initiatives.
  • Exhibit strong project initiation and planning activities, including scope, requirements, and defining project scopes.
  • Ensure accurate recording and timely resolution of project issues, change requests, and risks.
  • Comply with, support, and provide feedback on enterprise-wide project management methodologies, tools, and applications.
  • Execute approved projects to meet customer expectations, deadlines, and budgets.
  • Proactively manage risks and issues to deliver projects according to scope.
  • Utilize analytical and problem-solving techniques and tools with strong project execution abilities.
  • Organize, manage, and lead the project team to success through building strong relationships.
  • Demonstrate self-awareness and provide mentorship to other team members.
  • Utilize change management to control scope and communicate scope changes.
  • Track and report project progress and forecast trends.
  • Provide internal direction, leadership, and accountability for project management efforts.
  • Define project objectives and measures to be tracked by responsible business owners.
  • Identify trends and process improvement opportunities across departments.
  • Perform high-level data analysis, including cost/benefit analysis.
  • Develop and implement key metrics to measure and report on progress of initiatives.
  • Work with other managers to achieve efficiencies across integration of projects.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, utilizing standard project documentation and methodology.
  • Develop cross-functional, change management, and implementation strategies.
  • Assist team members in resolving project problems and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction as it relates to implementation of projects.
  • Provide concise and timely status reporting as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, statistics, health care, management, or related field required and five (5) years of Project Management experience, OR
  • Master's degree in Healthcare or Business Administration or a related field and three (3) years of Project Management experience.
  • Experience in supporting, leading, or coordinating project activities.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification required.
  • At least two (2) years of healthcare experience and two (2) years of management experience.
  • Experience delivering presentations to senior management.
  • Experience managing vendor contracts and relationships.
  • Experience working for a Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Experience using SharePoint, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel required.
  • Experience leading projects and all phases of project management.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience building and managing budgets and budget forecasting.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills and prioritize multiple tasks.
