Role Description
Beynon Sports Surfaces is looking for a self-motivated and highly organized Field Superintendent to manage all phases of construction projects. This role involves overseeing project planning, scheduling, estimating, and execution, as well as providing on-site supervision.
- Coordinate all trade contractors
- Review architectural and engineering drawings
- Ensure compliance with regulations
- Ensure timely completion of projects
The ideal candidate will have experience with asphalt and concrete construction, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Planning and Scheduling (35%):
- Develop and implement cost-effective plans and schedules for project completion
- Coordinate resource utilization and resolve work conflicts between subcontractors
- Oversee performance to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations

Estimating (25%):
- Review bid documents, plans, and specifications
- Assess on-site needs for change orders
- Work with the team to address deficiencies and modify construction practices

Supervision and Crew Assistance (20%):
- Provide on-site supervision when Beynon is the General Contractor
- Assist foremen and crews with field events and repairs as needed
- Be available for extended on-site support

Tracking and Reporting (10%):
- Document project progress with detailed reports, notes, and photos
- Maintain clear communication with project owners, architects, and the office regarding issues or modifications

Meetings and Site Inspections (10%):
- Attend pre-bid, pre-construction, and project progression meetings
- Conduct site inspections, including reviewing asphalt conditions
- Communicate with the General Contractor or Owner as necessary
Qualifications
- Education: AA degree or equivalent experience in the construction industry
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity, with experience in managing crews a plus

Competencies:
- Expertise in asphalt and concrete construction (curbs, flat work, sub-grade remediation, base/asphalt installation, and elevation)
- Strong understanding of design drawings and standard installation processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks under pressure
- Strong communication skills (oral and written), with Spanish proficiency a plus
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Willingness to travel extensively, particularly during peak seasons
- Supervision: Primarily supervises subcontractors, occasionally providing 24-hour supervision on specific projects
