Role Description

The Director, Skilled Trades & Clean Tech position partners with the Strategic Workforce Initiatives Lead on growth, innovation, and execution efforts for national Skilled Trades workforce development initiatives that are driving economic mobility and access to career pathways in the Construction, Energy, and Manufacturing segments. This includes leading operations for the Goodwill Clean Tech Accelerator™ national training academy.

• Collaborating with industry and philanthropic partners.
• Advancing program models to incorporate leading workforce development practices.
• Delivering technical assistance, project management, subject matter expertise, and quality standards support for Goodwill member organizations.
• Consultation for social enterprise and Mission business models for Goodwill members.
• Feasibility planning, funding development, policy assessment, financial modeling, staffing, training and funding partnerships, industry hiring partnerships, workforce development leading practices, scaling and growth strategies.

NOTE: This position is supported by grants. The position’s establishment and continuance may be dependent upon ongoing grant funding.

Qualifications

• At least ten years’ experience in workforce development leadership position(s) with increasing responsibility.
• Minimum of a bachelor's or associate degree in business management, social or human services, public administration, or education; master’s degree preferred.
• Specific project management, grant management, or consultation training desired.

Requirements

• Ten or more years’ experience in project and grant management.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple demands and projects across multiple sites.
• Experience managing web-based platforms and creating communications documents.
• Experience working with data management systems and budgets.
• Experience creating, implementing, and scaling workforce development programs for people unemployed and underemployed.
• Experience desired with workforce development programs, postsecondary training, philanthropic funding or other relevant experience in the skilled trades sector.
