[Hiring] Technical Product Manager @Genesys

Role Description

We are seeking a Technical Product Manager – Platform Engineering to help define and drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution of DevOps capabilities that enable engineering teams to build, test, deploy, operate, and secure cloud software at scale.

This role sits at the intersection of Product Management, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Developer Experience, Security, and Site Reliability Engineering. You will partner closely with engineering teams, architects, SRE, Security, and Product stakeholders to:

• Identify high-value platform opportunities.
• Translate complex technical problems into clear product requirements.
• Prioritize investments that improve developer productivity, operational efficiency, reliability, security, and governance.

This role will apply a platform-as-a-product mindset—using customer discovery, data, adoption, and measurable outcomes to identify developer friction and create reusable, self-service capabilities that make the right way the easiest way.

This is an opportunity to influence how software is developed and delivered at scale while helping shape the next generation of our internal developer platform. The role will also help identify opportunities to apply AI and intelligent automation to reduce developer and operational toil throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Define product strategy and roadmap:
• Partner with Platform Engineering leadership, engineering teams, architects, and internal customers to translate organizational objectives and developer needs into clear product strategies, roadmaps, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
• Treat the platform as a product:
• Develop a deep understanding of developers as customers through product discovery, feedback, usage data, and engineering metrics.
• Identify friction across the software development lifecycle and prioritize platform capabilities that improve developer experience and productivity.
• Own product priorities and backlog:
• Translate product strategy into prioritized initiatives, epics, features, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success measures.
• Maintain a healthy backlog that balances customer value, engineering capacity, technical debt, reliability, security, compliance, and strategic investment.
• Drive platform self-service and standardization:
• Identify opportunities to replace repetitive or manually operated processes with reusable platform capabilities, APIs, automation, templates, and paved-road experiences that increase developer autonomy while maintaining appropriate enterprise guardrails.
• Partner with engineering through delivery:
• Work closely with engineering and technical leaders on planning, refinement, sequencing, dependencies, risks, and delivery.
• Participate actively in Agile planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives while partnering with engineering leadership on team execution and Agile operating practices.
• Drive cross-team execution:
• Identify and manage dependencies, risks, sequencing requirements, and resource constraints across DevOps, Development, SRE, Security, Architecture, and other teams required to deliver platform capabilities.
• Measure outcomes, not just delivery:
• Establish product success metrics and evaluate capabilities based on adoption and measurable outcomes such as developer experience, toil reduction, cycle time, reliability, operational efficiency, security, and cost—not simply whether functionality was delivered.
• Apply technical product leadership:
• Develop sufficient understanding of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, APIs, software delivery, observability, reliability, and related technologies to engage effectively with engineers and architects, understand technical tradeoffs, and translate technical capabilities into customer and business value.
• Identify AI and automation opportunities:
• Evaluate opportunities to apply AI and intelligent automation across software development and platform operations, including areas such as vulnerability remediation, version migrations, CI/CD troubleshooting, deployment analysis, observability, and repetitive engineering workflows.
• Communicate and build alignment:
• Clearly communicate product priorities, decisions, tradeoffs, dependencies, risks, progress, and outcomes to engineering teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
• Facilitate prioritization and decision-making when teams have competing requirements or objectives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, Platform Product Management, or a comparable product role supporting complex technology organizations.
• Demonstrated experience defining and delivering technically complex products, developer platforms, infrastructure capabilities, or internal engineering products.
• Strong understanding of modern software development and delivery practices, including CI/CD and the software development lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure and modern Platform Engineering technologies such as AWS, infrastructure-as-code, APIs, containers and/or serverless technologies, observability, and software delivery automation.
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with engineers and architects, understand technical tradeoffs, and translate complex technical concepts into product requirements and business value.
• Proven ability to develop product strategies, roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, epics, requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable success outcomes.
• Experience conducting product discovery and using customer feedback, adoption data, and quantitative metrics to identify problems and prioritize investments.
• Experience managing cross-team dependencies and driving complex initiatives from discovery and planning through delivery and adoption.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to define and use metrics to evaluate developer experience, product adoption, engineering productivity, operational performance, or business outcomes.
• Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to operate effectively in a complex environment, bring structure to ambiguous problems, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive decisions without relying on direct organizational authority.

Desirable Skills

• Experience managing products for internal developers or engineering organizations, particularly within an Internal Developer Platform or Platform Engineering organization.
• Experience with AWS and large-scale, highly available cloud or SaaS environments.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms, source control systems, infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation, developer portals, or related DevOps technologies.
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering, observability, cloud security, governance, or compliance.
• Experience using DORA metrics, developer experience metrics, cycle-time metrics, adoption metrics, or other engineering productivity measures to inform product decisions.
• Experience with FinOps or cloud cost-management principles.
• Experience identifying or delivering AI, LLM, agentic, or intelligent automation capabilities for software development or operational workflows.
• Experience operating in multi-account, multi-region, highly available, or compliance-sensitive cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Agile product development practices and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Aha!, Productboard, or equivalent.
• Product Management, Agile, Cloud, or related technical certifications are a plus.
